At the end of 2017 the government authorizes that ADN 40 can be transmitted as open digital television on national level (before that it was free for the country's capital only). Shortly before the channel changes its image, name and content: from “Proyecto 40” (channel for cultural and informational content) to “ADN40” (channel for news and sports with 24 hours live transmission). The content changes progressively and initiates with the transmission of three newscasts from Monday to Friday.
