José García Valseca - He was a media magnate who founded the first magazine when he was only 28 years old. In the 1940s, with the help from politicians from the State of Puebla, such as the governor Maximilio Ávila, he starts his own "media empire" by acquiring the newspaper chain El Sol and the sports daily Esto. At the end of the 1940s, he also founded the first school for journalism in the country. The creation of the Day of Freedom of the Press in Mexico is because of García Valseca, when he convinced the President Miguel Alemán to forgive the debt of the printed media companies towards the government company that had monopoly over the paper in Mexico. In 1972, followed by economic difficulties, he sold his media empire of 26 newspapers to Mario Vázquez Raña.
